I started playing Heavy Rain, although I am not very far in. It is a very nice change of pace from the typical over-the-shoulder-shooter (is that an official term?) that seem to dominate the video game market. Little directions pop up all over the screen to indicate different actions you can take while playing the game. It is almost like watching a movie, only you make little decisions for the characters as the movie progresses. I’ve heard great things about the story, so I’m really looking forward to finishing it.

Page 10 is up and a few more characters have been added to the Characters page.

I have also finished Mass Effect 2. It is, simply put, amazing. The first game had an incredibly epic feel. You truly felt like you were defending the galaxy. ME2 still has this intensity, but the entire game is streamlined. Your choices are also much more powerful in the sequal. A few particularly annoying bugs, such as texture pop-ins, are also fixed. Load times are still long, however. At least you don’t have to wait around in elevators this time, though!

Page 9 is now uploaded. We are trying black gutters with this page to see if that helps the lettering blend in better.

I’ve only had an hour or so to dabble in ME2 so far, but from what I’ve seen this game looks like it is going to be a blast. The mission format really makes the game feel more accessible to people who just want to pick up and play it for an hour or so and still want to feel like they are making progress. The game engine is also beautiful. Dragon Age didn’t look bad, necessarily, but it does when you compare it to this game.

Finally, GRRM made a few misleading blog posts about his upcoming book Dancing with Dragons. I’m not going to speculate on whether or not these comments were intentionally misleading, but one would think that a writer would understand the importance of clarity. Posting a picture of the book with the words “nuff said” underneath can easily be interpreted as “I’m done.” If you compulsively check his blog every day you could probably put two and two together and realize that he was referring to the fact that he finished a hard Jon Snow chapter, but not everyone does that.

Page 8 has been uploaded! I hope you guys enjoy it. I think Kenny has done a particularly great job with this one.

We are on the new server now, so browsing the website should be a much more pleasant experience. I have done several things toward this end:

1. Faster host
2. Optimized the image size of the comics (they were 700k each and are now 200k each)
3. Properly configured Wordpress caching plugin

You will also notice that there is a character page in the overhead menu now. Going forward I will be adding characters every so often. Some weeks more than others. This should help you keep track of who is who as you are getting into the story. I will also provide character design sketches in the future, so you can get a look at Kenny’s creative process.

If you can see this post, then that means the transfer to our new server is complete!
